Operations Manager
Joanna Derrington
Joanna is most proud to be working with ACES Renewables, offering renewable energy solutions to businesses across Africa.
Joanna's career started in accounting in 1990, qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1999. She has worked in numerous finance roles in the UK and Bermuda. Working in accounting practise and industry in various roles from Auditor, Tax advisor and finally as Group Head of Estate Accounts and Finance for the UK's largest Property Management Company, where she managed the finances of 3,700 developments across the UK. Joanna obtained the PRINCE2 project management certification in 2016 and became Head of Business Change, managing all capex project completion and spend.
In 2019 when Joanna moved to South Africa, she joined ACES Renewables in the finance team, moving to operations in 2020, designing and installing solar installations.
Technical Project Manager

Over the years Tumelo has had the opportunity to work in almost all sectors of Electrical Engineering. From Underground, to Open cast mining electrical maintenance, Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Green Energy Solutions, Domestic and Industrial Fault Finding, installations and Maintenance.
Tumelo has grown from the role of Electrician to Technical Project Manager. At Sync Systems he was given the opportunity to apply for projects, do site visits, site establishment, project implementation and quality inspection and hand over and everything else in between.
As Technical Project Manager at ACES Renewables, Tumelo designs solar systems for our clients, is responsible for Project Management and Business Development through operations and customer care. Procurement and project operations and maintenance also fall under his area of expertise and responsibility.
Research Assistant
Ryan Graves
Ryan's interest and enthusiasm for sustainability and renewable energy began during his degree in Geography and Environmental Studies while at Stellenbosch University. Since then, he has pursued his passion through various courses, furthering his knowledge and understanding of the renewable energy industry and related technologies.
As Research Assistant at ACES Renewables, Ryan is responsible for producing reports and data analyses, providing research assignments to assist the company in making informed decisions and managing ACES Renewables' social accounts.
